DESCRIPTION:

2. Each 5ml suspension contains Sucralfate USP. 500 mg. Sucralfate in an acidic environment reacts
3. with hydrochloric acld In the stomach to form a cross-linking, viscous, paste like material capable of acting as an acid buffer for 6-8 hours. It also attaches to proteins on the surface of ulcers, such as albumin and fibrinogen, to form stable insoluble complexes. These complexes serve as protective barriers at the ulcer surface, preventing further damage from acid, pepsin and bile. In addition it prevents back diffusion of hydrogen ions and absorbs both pepsin and bile acids, It also promotes bicarbonate production and acts like an add buffer with Cycloprotective properties.

5. Dose: and Route of administration : Dogs : 500 mg to 1000 mg tld - qid Cats: 250 mg bld - tld
6. Foals: 1000-2000 mg qid. Treatment period is 5 to 7 days or as directed by Veterinarian.
7. Route of Administration may be oral or rectal Enema.

9. Precaution: Sucralfate must be adminsitered 2 hours before any other oral drug because sucralfate
10. effectively prevents absorption of other drugs. Avoid using this drug in animal with chronic kidney
11. failure, as it might cause aluminium and toxicity.
